WHAT WE'VE SEEN👓
Retail is cut throat man. In just one week we ran into two pretty significant bumps in the road at store level. As y'all already know we sell in all the Whole Foods in the mid-Atlantic which includes all of the Washington, DC stores. Grocery stores redo all of their sets like end-caps, special placements, etc. about once a month to every six weeks. Well, one of our awesome sample team members, Luke, went to the Whole Foods Tenley Town location this past Saturday to do a demo and the day before, the grocery team decided to do a shelf reset and dumped all Absurd Snacks into a donation pile! 😐 This happened the week prior while visiting a Whole Foods on H Street 🙃
Unfortunately, this happens pretty frequently to small brands that are local and/or not part of the "planogram" which essentially means they have permanent placement in the store. But fear not - Luke was able to work with the Whole Foods team to get our placement back and print new price tags on the spot. Go Luke! 💪
WHERE WE'VE BEAN🫘
It's almost summertime which means the bean team is growing! We've been interviewing college students who have applied for our Field Sales and Community Manager internships, and let's just say it's gonna be a hard decision! Our summer interns will be crucial in helping execute the many summer pop up and sampling events we have planned. So, get ready for some fun and fresh faces (and be nice or else!) 😉
WHAT TO CRAVE THIS WEEK😋
How is it already the end of March 🤨 Looks like the weather is going to be quite glorious for the majority of the east coast tomorrow through midday Sunday. But keep an eye on those Sunday evening storms passing through!
We have some store visits planned for this weekend, but otherwise we'll be heads down working on our brand refresh set for May!
