Can you believe that Covid-19 was declared a pandemic five years ago from Monday?! 🤯 It still feels like a fever dream, and one that we definitely don't want to relive in real life. Instead, we have some not-so-fun facts to share with ya in relation to increased food prices since the pandemic, but we'll share some lucky tips to help save some money on your next grocery trip.
Over the past 5 years, eggs (+279%), frozen orange juice (+85%), and sugar (+71%) saw the greatest price increases. BUT! We have some money-saving tips for you that you can use when shopping at one of our favorite grocery stores, Kroger (also, where you can pick up a bag of Absurd Snacks, too) 😋
💲 Look for Yellow Tags: if it's yellow, it's on sale! Fun fact, if there's a tag that says 10/$10, you actually don't need to buy all 10. The sale price applies to single units, too. That's just great marketing 💲 Shop the Kroger Brands for Pantry Staples: We are big fans of their Private Selection, Simple Truth and Smart Way private label brands. Try this cold brew that's on sale or even this high-quality avocado oil! 💲 Use the Kroger App: check out what's on sale before heading to the store so you can plan around your budget! Double up on coupons with Kroger's digital coupons, too.

Absurd Snacks was chosen to be part of a top 20 nationally ranked accelerator called Lighthouse Labs, and the kickoff week was last week! We've been busy busy with sampling events, networking, and programming around strategic mentors, fundraising, and customer discovery. We're joined by 8 other companies across the DMV area and across many different industries. This programming is helping us get prepared for kicking off our partnership with a new out-sourced manufacturing partner, allowing us to produce even more inventory than before. Stay tuned for a new sales channel that's launching in mid-May (hint hint, rainforest in South America) 😉

60 DEGREES AND SUNSHINE! We made it y'all. The last stretch of winter is behind us (at least in the Southeast), just in time for St. Paddy's weekend and the celebration ahead. Spring time means picnic season is in full swing. Grab a pack of Rosemary Sea Salt Nut-Free Snack Mixes to pair alongside your favorite amuse-gueule. We're thinkin' a sweet and salty combo - maybe a fig spread, your fav cracker, and a cheese of choice?
