Grace had been roasting chickpeas in her oven for years to use as crunchy salad toppers and on the go snacks. When roasted to perfection, beans have a nutty flavor and texture like a traditional peanut or tree nut. It was a no brainer - given their high fiber, protein, and overall awesome nutrients - to use crunchy roasted beans in place of allergens.

The FDA recognizes nine foods to be the top allergens in the U.S. they include: peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, soy, fish, crustacean, sesame, wheat. Absurd Snacks only makes snacks that are free of all top-9 allergies.

We have high standards for our entire supply chain, this includes ingredient suppliers, warehousing, and our production facility. We are happy to say that all of our supply chain partners are free of the top nine allergens. This means that we do everything we can to minimize the chance for cross-contamination during delivery, bagging, producing, and warehousing. We also conduct allergen testing regularly and have a third party allergen audit with MenuTrinfo to certify free-from.

Yes! You can recycle all Absurd Snacks bags and boxes right at home. We want to make it easier for you to take care of our (planet).

We do indeed! Our bags are made from 65% upcycled plastics and are recyclable right at home. We also contribute to CleanHub, an organization that collects plastics on our behalf, annually. In 2022 alone they collected over 4 million pounds of plastic and put it back into the supply chain! Learn more here.
