What should I do this weekend? Here's the answer.

Riding bikes, seeing the monuments, and getting a bunch of free giveaways? Name a better way to spend your Saturday morning… we’ll wait!

This weekend, we’re headed up to Washington DC to pop up at the finish festival of the DC Bike Ride, the capital’s only car-free social ride taking place on Saturday September 7, 2024. A 20-mile bike ride is followed up with a festival featuring live music, entertainment, snack stations, and more. It’s an amazing initiative for the community, as proceeds go to local programs benefiting youth cycling and marginalized communities.

Outside of Absurd Snacks, other partners include Fat Tire Ale, REI Co-op, Giant Supermarkets, and more. If you’ve been following along, you may have heard that we have been partnering with cycling clubs like Car6on Racing and WeeWheel in Richmond. We’re planning some really fun collaborations to fuel our first DC-based cycling club, Streets Calling DC. Streets Calling will be showing up in their awesome checkered kits for the race and just might bring some ABSURD SNACKS along for the ride.

The DC Bike Ride kicks off at 8am and we’ll be ready for you at the finish line starting at 8:30am.

Don’t have a bike? No problem - they have rentals ready for you in case you still want to join in on the action.

Don’t want to ride but want to hang? The finish festival is open to all, so feel free to come down to 300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20565 anytime between 9am and 1pm to come hang. DC Bike Ride is powered by the community, and there are still volunteer opportunities available as well. Check out their website to learn more.

So, if you’re looking for the perfect protein-packed, post-exercise snack, or just a delicious munchy, come to hang with us to score some free snacks and giveaways. We will see you there!!

P.S. - after the race, we are heading up to visit Doron and her team at Sticky Fingers Bakery. If you haven’t tried their cookie sandwiches a.k.a. Chipwich cookies yet, you are missing out. We can’t share why we’re visiting just yet, but stay tuned for more updates to come :)
