Our top picks for a snacky and delicious summer

I’m not sure about you, but I’m a sweet, salty, and texture person. I think it stems from being a bowl girl, AKA I think the best meals come in bowls AND everything tastes better in a bowl where flavors can marry. Think Buddha bowls, salads, pasta, etc. The way that soft and crunchy foods can pair with a zesty sauce or salty cheese really gets me going. I’m very serious about this.

So I’ve put together a short and succinct list of easy-to-make snacks that will be part of my snack rotation for when I’m craving everything everywhere all at once (great movie).

  • Fancy Toasts: this is a no-brainer. Grab your favorite piece of bread, mine’s sourdough, and slather on your favorite creamy topping as a base, something crunchy on top, and something sweet to drizzle. Here are some combinations that I’ve been loving recently:
    • Sourdough bread with hummus, pickled onions, roasted pumpkin seeds, and date syrup
    • Sourdough bread with cottage cheese, diced pineapple, and tahin sprinkle
    • Sourdough bread with SunButter, thinly sliced banana, dark chocolate chips, and hot honey
  • Rosemary Sea Salt Nut-Free Snack Mix with Apple Nachos: this is my favorite sweet and salty snack combo. Destined to put a smile on your face in the 5 minutes it takes to make this bad boy. Take your favorite apple and cut it into thin spears. Layer them on a plate and drizzle your favorite sweetener on top (mine is honey or maple syrup), rip open a bag of our Rosemary Sea Salt snacks to eat on its own or top your apple nachos. And there you have it - a sweet, salty, crunchy treat to keep you satisfied till your next meal or snack :)
  • Maple Cinnamon Nut-Free Snack Mix by Absurd Snacks Paired with a Banana and Your Fav Butter: remember that trend where influencers would flambe bananas in their air fryer then load it up with ice cream and toppings? Yeah, it was cute but too much work and the mess I DON’T need this busy summer. Instead, try taking your average-joe banana, slice it down the middle, and drizzle your favorite spread on top (right now I’m loving No-Sugar Added SunButter, Cinnamon Roll Granola Butter, SuperSpoon), and add your Absurd Snacks as a crunchy topping. You’re looking at a balanced and satisfying snack packed with protein, potassium, and pure happiness. And most importantly - NO MESS and super customizable for particular/picky eaters :)
