A Ridiculously Good Ragnar Relay Race
You might have seen all the rave about our most recent, treacherous, yet rewarding race in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia. Ragnar is a one-of-a-kind race, filled with camping, s'mores making, live music, and a whole lot of running. There’s Ragnar races all over the country but we’ve done two this year, one in Richmond in May and one last weekend. Mother Nature graced us with about three inches of rain in our tents, creating super muddy, slippery, and low-key dangerous trails, but we did the thing!
The Absurd Snacks Athletic Club came in 5th place overall out of 144 teams! The race consisted of 15 miles per person, ocurring at all hours of the day and night, over the course of 24 hours. It’s essentially a relay race, and each team member runs roughly three 5-mile loops, on three separate courses, the red, green, and yellow. When one team member returns from a 5-mile loop, the next team member starts theirs, and that process repeats until all eight team members complete their three loops. Our team came in 5th and completed all 120 miles in 21 hours! INSANE. And we’re so proud.
Not only did we compete, but we also had a rad vendor booth up all weekend. We met a ton of runners, sampled, and sold snacks while cheering on our fellow runners. With 7g of plant protein, 5g of fiber, and only 2-3g of added sugar, athletes fueled their tank with Absurd Snacks allll weekend.
